New Homes

Building a new house can be a very exciting beginning to many happy years spent with family and friends in a place you can truly call home. It can also be overwhelming, expensive and stressful. If you decide that you want to build a new home, you need to be sure that you have chosen an honest and reliable registered builder who has your needs in mind. We understand that your new home is likely to be your most treasured financial investment. We are willing to work alongside you, from plans to lock up and fix, to provide you with the home of your dreams.

Many people love the home in which they live, but may decide to extend due to growing families, extra guests coming to stay, a need for more entertainment areas, or a desire for extra bathrooms and bedrooms. Whatever your needs may be, we want to help you to convert your existing home to match your modern lifestyle. Extending your home is also a more cost effective way to have the house that you want, without the hassles of moving and the worries that come with buying a new house, such as stamp duty or extended mortgages. An extension or second storey addition to your home must always work to flatter the appearance of your existing house, and our qualified tradesmen are keen to add to your practicality while complimenting the appeal of your home.

The kitchen and bathrooms are often the most used rooms and two areas that are largely viewed by guests to your home. Renovating these areas can give your home a whole new feel and can modernise the appearance of your home. Renovations can be a daunting experience, so we aim to cause as little disruption as possible to ensure a smooth transition for you. Our experience and understanding of the building industry ensures only the most competent, efficient and motivated tradesmen will work with you to make certain that works are completed exactly to your liking.

Plans, permits and insurance

Before the commencement of any kind of building or alterations, you must obtain building plans. This will enable all suppliers of goods and services to provide quotations from your drawings that can easily be compared to suit your lifestyle and budget. CVS Constructions makes this process that little bit easier by providing you with all the plans you need. Chris Van Suylen, Registered Builder and Qualified Carpenter, works closely with various draftsmen and architects to ensure that all of your requirements are met.

Most building projects, including alterations and extensions, demolitions and removals, require a building permit to ensure the safety and health of the people using them. It also makes certain that an overall high standard of work has been completed. Owners may choose to obtain permits on their own; however this can be a confusing and difficult experience. CVS Constructions will consult a registered building surveyor, who will find out if permits are required and will be responsible for all relevant and required building inspections. We can take the hassle away and provide peace of mind by providing you with all of the permits that you need to make your visions for your home a reality.

As required under the Building Act 1993, CVS Constructions is registered as a building practitioner with the Building Practitioners Board. We carry all appropriate insurance, such as public liability, warranty insurance and contract works.

Administration of building contracts

If you are planning to have work that is worth more than $5000.00 completed at your home, you are required to enter a formal written contract between you and your registered builder. You will be provided with a copy of the contract and all other relevant documents, including plans and specifications.

Our qualified and experienced registered builder, Chris Van Suylen, will work with you to ensure that you are actively involved in planning the finer details of the contract so that you can rest assured all of your needs and requirements will be included in your new home or home alterations.
